A sweet farewell

Okay don't look at me like that.I told ya I am weird.How can a farewell be sweet right? fFor me it can be.... firstly because anyone who leaves Udhampur has to be happy and secondly because I have packed homemade rumballs in this box.
I had to use the stamps Ujjwal sent and I decided to use them here.
The PDCC colors are used here.The current challenge at DYSU is all about distressing and I have used a lot here.This one also qualifies at the current chalenge at The CASual fridays.
I also made a tag using same colors.Some more detail shots of the box.

Anniversary card for card patterns

Here's a quick card based on card patterns current sketch.
Quick card because I was too excited to try the new stamps that Jovita sent me.
nothing much to say about the card.
The couple image on the top of the card is heat embossed and then popped up with the help of dimensionals so this one enters the current challenge at the CORROSIVE CHALLENGE blog.

I am enjoying and looking forward to Skipping stones sketches and this time too it was no exception.I made a card as soon as I saw the sketch but had to wait till the morning to click the picture.
No point doing that anyway because it is gloomy and dark in the mornings as well.
To cheer me up in this grey and gloomy weather I used COLOR Q colors and stamped butterflies on this card.

Weird title for a post...but you all are aware that I am weird ..right?
My obsession with challenge blogs is still going strong and I am regularly net surfing and looking for challenges and this one is for a favourite challenge blog called Unity Opportunity challenge blog.
I saw the tutorial on Splitcoast and since my white embossing powder hasn't arrived yet from priyanka...I used white ink and then coloured with my watercolour pencils.I love the effect .what about you?

Gift tag and candy box for a little princess

My daughters being exceedingly social have their weekends booked everytime.only problem is I get to know every time pretty late...with hardly anytime to buy a decent gift...and because of this place too.so I have to make do with whatever I have in my stock.
And this is what I came up with...I dressed up a deodorant and a candy box for a six year old little girl.

Gift bag and a tag for a preggy friend

I have a busy weekend craftwise.Friday evening my daughters were invited to a kiddie birthday party and then on sat they are invited again to a friend's bday and my preggy friend's bday falls on the same day.So You get the picture right?
Well I love eye make up and so does she( I presume)I bought her eye make up and a hand held mirror and then made this black and white bag with a splash of Pink to hold her bday gift .
She has a long name and it was practically impossible for me to fit it here I used her more popular nickname.
The colors are PDCC colors.
This tag is absolutely appropriate for a preggy...I think.

Boy card with girlie colors

Beyond grey challenge blog is out with its newest challenge and quite an interesting one at that....which is to create a masculine card with girlie colors( read baby pink,pastel green and pastel yellow).Now I checked and rechecked this tricky one on their blog repeatedly.....It is pretty tricky...My first thought was to create a tag... a masculine one.So I almost started making one...You always need tags....BUT the challenge said only cards.......so I thought some more( precisely 15 minutes)I believe your first ideas are the best;and thought of making a shaped card for a baby boy....Ohh come on baby boys are masculine at least GENDERWISE.
And so here I am with my card.

A legacy of Love in a tote bag

Like i said in my last post ...I am addicted to challenges...so this time I kept checking on the Sentimental Sundays site for its current challenge....and the moment they updated their current challenge....I made this one.I know one of their DT members has also made a shaped card ...but I swear before scrolling down for inspiration ...I had decided on this one.
This card is for a lady in our station who has been blessed with a cute baby girl.I think this one is apt for a baby girl.The template of this card is from The Alley way stamps and so is the image and sentiment.The color inspiration is also from the same.The flowers are from Pie Lane and the oval pink gems inside the card are also from pie lane.

I have been checking Less is More blog since yesterday for their latest challenge and made this one within 30 minutes of seeing the challenge.Such is my addiction with challenges nowadays.
The current challenge at Less is more is really interesting...check it out gals.
I have masked the circular part and the stripes are border strips from Pie lane.The swirl stamp was bought from mansi and the sentiment from Jovita.

Birthday tag for Joel

My daughters are active social beings....they went to a birthday party last night and got an invitation for another one...which is tonight.so my husband was packed off to fetch a gift for the young lad and I meanwhile made this tag for the Birthday boy.The image is from pollycraft...coloured with faber castell watercolor pencils and some glitter for the cap.The alpha stickers are from echo park and Voila done.This one is just apt for the current challenge at Less is More.

Hanging treat box made with Love and a lot of inspiration

Long title...long day.....sleepy....tired...head ache....does it make sense?It doesn't matter.
what matters is despite all this I managed to craft.its windy,cloudy and extremely cold again...but i made this one for a friend and her kids.The wine is for a friend and the chocolates for her kid.....Duh need I explain that?
so I made this hanging treat box.
My inspiration came from the current challenge at ICR.It is a photo inspiration and love based challenge and here's my take on it.
I have used whit CS from fabriano erre elle,the pp is from Echo park and the mulberry roes are from ujjwal's shop.The leaves and the glitter are from pie lane.the tag and the alphas are chipboard from ujjwal's store.Ribbon is from Jovita's store ans the twine is from my stash.

My first scrapbook layout

Hi long time no see...Thats because I have been busy...with a lot of things and eventually I will tell ya all about that.One of them being I am in a process of pickling carrots,cauliflower and turnip....my yearly affair.And because I do not have a domestic help for almost a fortnight now...have to do everything...which gets quite cumbersome.
Anyway...please be gentle this is my first scrapbook layout and for all you pros out there this must be really shoddy work....but I enjoyed it.this is one of my fav pictures of daughters and I wanted to make my first scrapbook page with this pic.Close shot of my fav pic

I am doing a lot of interesting things nowadays and today I have something to share which i have never done before.it was quite challenging to print the image and sentiment but finally I managed to nail it.

Round is a shape

Many a times...in fact regularly my folks tell me to do something about my weight...and my father particularly asks me to get in shape....so this is my humble retort...ROUND IS A SHAPE.
Jokes apart...I have never tried shaped cards...well thats a lie...actually I have miserably failed everytime I tried one....but this time I nailed it.If you think otherwise please let me know....but for me and for now I have manged to whip out a fairly decent shaped card.
And since I make it my business to enter every challenge possible...card patterns and sentimental Sundays....pushed me into trying this one...and smart cookie that I am I managed to fit in the colours I have used on this one to suit the current challenge at polly craft monday too.

Since I am quite challenged as far as stitching goes(Back in school My skirt rested on my waist with sheer will power when I refused to fix the tear and used innumerable safety pins instead) I patted myself for the stitching on the card.I loved it simply loved it.

The weather and this place are getting sadder by the day.I don't have the correct adjective actually so consider this.The sun refuses to show up...and how will he with non stop rain...and because of that constant powercuts....constant chill.Right now I am shivering....and I can't keep myself warm...coz every heating equipment in this house needs electricity...and which is conspicuous by its absence.After cooking,sweeping ,mopping and doing every mundane job possible in this pathetic weather....I decided to craft and why?
Because my motto to drive away the gloomy greys is to craft... so here I am.

I find this crafting really therapeutic...thats why I craft as much as possible.its getting very difficult for me with regular powercuts....no domestic help...and sub zero temperatures.But like I said earlier this helps me heal the negative side of me.....I craft as often as possible
I made this for Skipping Stones sketch and for Scrapbook Essentials challenge blog.So it doesn't take rocket science to figure that the layout of the card is inspired by Skipping Stones sketch and the colours used are olive ,suede and blue which are the colors of Scrapbook Essentials.
I have used stamps which I bought from Ujjwal and Jovita and used Tim holtz distress inks.The roses are from Ujjwal too and the white one was distressed.Because this is CAS card I am also entering it at The ICR challenge.

Beyond Grey

First of all I love the name of this challenge blog called Beyond Grey challenges.I dunno about you but makes me look at the brighter side and also sounds sophisticated so it was natural that I had to make something for their very first challenge.The current challenge is about making something using grey, pink and just a wee bit of black.and so here I am with my creation.
As you all have been subjected to my ramblings and like it is no surprise that I hate this place....I must tell ya all that Crafting helps me relax and unwind and though momentary it takes me to a place which is not Udhampur...and every day for those moments I truly live and I am truly happy.this may look like a grey creation but it is not.I am having a tough day but this made me smile and made me feel good about myself.

Hey Peeps!
How are ya?I have resigned to my fate( It is still bloody cold and gloomy here) and trying to find solace in crafting.It is getting increasingly difficult to craft too .My fingers are freezing and so I try to thaw them every now and then...sometimes in front of the blower and other times I light the stove and do the needful.I am worried one of these days my fingers may get cooked.

Hello sunshine

Hi peeps!
Its been extremely cold and why?Because it has been Doom's day like for past three days.I actually thought that a spaceship like the one in Independence day is going to descend here any day.But thankfully sun chose to show up after three days.I hosted a sizzling lunch which I finished with Coffee praline gateau and strawberry souffle.... and after the lunch the sun decided to miraculously show up and through the icy winds appeared the snow covered mountains.Have a look.
This is what I could click from my vearndah with my eyes watering ,teeth chattering and legs wobbling.Most of you may find it beautiful but I am struggling to keep myself warm through power cuts.
Between the powercuts,doomsday scare and lunch I managed to make this wind swept balloony card.
I am right now in a CAS cardmaking mood and this one is again apt for ICR.The sketch is from Scrapbook Essential sketch. Colours are PDCC colours.

Hi peeps!
How are ya all?I am freezing.I can see snow capped mountains.....Only when my eyes aren't watering due to the strong and chilly winds.....and honestly I don't care for the snowfall .the only thing I am waiting for is the Sun.My clothes aren't drying.It took me quite sometime to even click these pictures because the card too blew away a couple of times .
And as the title suggests that I am thinking of Sun now and always...because I just can't see it.

New beginnings

Hi Peeps!
Long time.Its been constantly a tough fight with the sub zero temperatures.My kids are home and the domestic help isn't ....so you can imagine my plight.Plus I am hooked to THE IMMORTALS OF MELHUA.Those of you who haven't read this must try it.It is unputdownable.Also I am on a dessert making spree on popular demand by kids.
I missed crafting but there is no time for it.But today I managed to squeeze in some for my DT post.

Hi Peeps
I have a bag and a tag to show you like the previous one with only one difference.last time it was for a little girl and this time its for a lady.
Small post with little to write about but a picture heavy one.Everything is an effort nowadays with sub zero temp and frozen fingers.I am having tough time coloring .And why is there no heating.because the electrical system sucks.If the washing machine and the blower are on together....the whole house suffers a power cut.So though this bag may not look very difficult to make...it tested my patience coz I worked with frozen fingers.

I dunno about you but I have many friends whose anniversary is in Dec.This one is for one of them.she reads my blog too so cannot disclose her name and hence haven't posted the insides too.this is one of my favorite images from Kich and Bleu and this die cut is my fav too.
I really need to buy watercolor pencils soon as i am running out of them and udhampur being the village it is I won't get it here.

WARNING-Picture heavy post

My computer is slow...actually my net connection is...there have been power cuts and the domestic help is conspicuous with his absence and my husband is working yeah on a SUNDAY too .And so to cheer my self up I tried to find time to craft.
So here is my recycled bag with a tag.
My daughters were invited for a birthday party and I made a bag to hold the presents for the birthday girl.
This was the humble beginning of the recycled bag.
And this is what it looked like after the treatment.

The TAGI know the glue is showing because I was in a hurry to click the pictures.

For the sweet tooth

I do not have one but know quite a few people who have sweet tooth.So what have I been doing today?I made a healthy sweet for my kids.It is a recipe handed down by my MIL.Its a sweet made with poppy seeds and almonds.then I baked a batch of chocolate cupcakes for a very pregnant lady.Very pregnant because she is due anytime and was craving for cupcakes.
I thought this basket looked like a bassinet so picked it up to pack her cupcakes.
Hope you like it.She did ;and thank God for that.A morning well spent.

Finally Invitation card #8

Phew! I have finally managed to finish all the invitation cards...and they have been distributed too.We went to buy clothes for the big day for the BIG GIRL and though there are only two shops here for kids....so I thought how much time can it take...but it did because the first shop had nothing for Trisha and in the second shop the shop keeper wasn't too keen on showing us anything.I am reminded everyday of what a horrid place I am living in with hardly any choice.So coming back to the story we did manage to buy stuff for Both the girls...yeah the younger one always wants whatever her older sister buys.
The next target is to wrap the party favours plus finish a few DT projects . Highly ambitious plans but will try and complete them.
Also a treasure hunt is planned for the birthday girl....which is a part of her birthday celebration every year..She is an avid reader and I have ordered some books through flipkart for her.
Okay I am as excited as her that's why I am rambling so much.So Coming back to the point her is my card and it is inspired by the sketch at Random Acts of Creativity.

Okay(I know ....This is not the best way to start a post )have managed to get myself neck deep in work again and Boy Do I enjoy that? Heck I do...I really do.
So I have a birthday coming up like I have said, and will keep saying since my precocious kid keeps reminding me every waking minute .And Like every year I have to plan a SURPRISE treasure hunt...cept there is no Surprise element because we do this every year and she demands it every year...But then she insists on calling it a surprise treasure hunt ....so be it.
I have a few DT projects lined up and have started conducting Phonics classes for kids at the school.
So after this mundane rambling lets get back to the point( DH will be very happy to see that I got to the point at least with you and without beating around the bush much)which is; to share this second invitation card I made for Trisha.
I haven't been able to play along with ICR for quite sometime and I am glad that this time is an exception.
So this is an exclusive entry for ICR where the current challenge is to use dots and stripes and a tag .
I have managed to include all three elements.

Its my firstborn Trisha's 10th birthday on the 13th of this month and its like a festival in Welde household every year.So I have started gearing up for the same.My first baby step towards the big event is the first of the seven invitation cards that I am making.
It takes its inspiration from the super talented Erum.Yeah I am CASEing her again and that too for the Challenge at Lia Stampz;which is the 3Rchallenge.

Today's card as the name suggests has got to do with my birth flower( which I did not know until I googled it)Jonquil.Thats the current challenge at Sentimental sundays.I have taken inspiration from the colours of my birth flower and created this.

The cover of my mysterious project

WARNING
This is a pic heavy post.
And my project isn't complete so you can imagine how many pics it comes with when it is complete.also I haven't clicked many pages.
The cover.This I made for the D2d progressive challenge.that is how it started.But later it shaped to become a sort of a scrapbook.I am making it for a friend.
I love scrapbooks and mini ones too but have never tried one coz i do not have the basic stuff needed to make one.

But since the itch was always there and so was the idea....it suddenly formed to take shape yesterday.

and I am quite enjoying it.it is pretty addictive.

Hey peeps!
I have been busy( so what's new?).Wanted to share that I conducted a workshop, on how to improve one's English through phonics and phonetics ,with teachers and parents at the Air Force school...and it was a huge success.So I will be conducting similar such workshops and also teach children Phonics and Phonetics.It is a fantastic feeling to hold a child's finger and lead him towards a great hobby called READING.
Anyway that was not why I bothered you all.I have a card to show you which is incidentally my first tri fold card and it came out pretty well for a first attempt.The image is fromThe stamping boutique and I have coloured it with water soluble colours I bought from Ujjwal.The paper is from studio Calico and the ribbon was also bought from Ujjwal.It was raining incessantly hence the poor picture quality.

I am sorry for this hurried post.Still in the middle of shifting.A major chunk has been done but a substantial amount is still left.I had to post this card because it is a progressive challenge on D2d blog and the deadline is very close.
The image is from D2d and I have colored it with color pencils and then added a touch of glossy accents.I have used my new Ippity stamp and the frosted white ink too which arrived yesterday from Ujjwal.This card is suitable for the skipping stones sketch challenge and the sentimental sundays-anything goes challenge too.
the gemstones are from pie lane.
I managed to create something with whatever was left in this house....since the rest has all already gone into the other house.Hope you like it.

Like I told you all earlier that I am neck deep in a lot of work....so have no card to share....but have something to show you plus a news to share.
First the news....PIE LANE blog has been launched and I am DT member on that blog.So you can hope to see many creations involving Pie lane stuff.
I had ordered Lacy circles from Khyati and I have been freaking out ever since the dies arrived.made a tag for a bouquet.Here is the pic.

These are candle holders for the table centre piece for The air force day party.
I have made five of them.

Short post again today.Neck deep in work plus Air force day coming up so busy with the entertainment.I am crooning old numbers with a professional singer.God bless the audience.Also in the middle of shifting the house and have to make ten menu cards for the big day.Now you tell me ain't that neck deep?
Alright after the daily dose of rambling here is my card.I have made it for two friends.TWO? yeah I got the number right.It is for ERUM who is DT for Lia stampz and the card shall go to a dear friend whose name I can't disclose.

The image is from Creative Mind of Sylvie.I have used echo park papers to paper piece it.Originally I was going to colour it but then changed my mind.Does that happen to you too?The button is from (who else?)Pie lane.the gems are from Kaisercraft.the circle is cut with my new Fiskars circle cutter.I had a MS circle cutter which I am not happy with.this one is fab.Thanks KARUNA.also have used some masking with my new and old inks.
Karvachauth coming up and I shall be fasting for DH's long life and since its better to tell what you want when you are married for 11 years to avoid disappointment...I would love more TIM HOLTZ Distress inks.I hope DH is listening.

I have a card early this morning to share.I made this early this morning at 5:30 am.So early because my daughter has Dusshera holidays and then it gets difficult to do crafty stuff with kids running around in the house.But I may stick to this schedule because what a great start to the day!

A card for a special friend

I am on a roll and for a reason...I have to complete a few projects asap because I may be shifting this weekend...MAYBE because this is defence and things are fluid and ambiguous all the time so I not sure if the house will be ready for its new occupants.

Anyways all that later....I would like to share my new card that I made for D2D.The image is from D2d and the sentiment is from sentimental sundays.The sketch is from CPS.The twine is from my stash.This card also enters the ongoing challenge at sentimental sundays.

The current challenge at Sentimental sundays urges you to step out of your comfort zone.Ihave made 4by 9 card only once earlier and thats becasue I have to make an envelope for it .So this is just not my style....But I quite like the way it turned out

A quick post to share the card I made for The crafter's cafe.They are having a progressive challenge where you have to create a card Happy Birthday! Card + peach/pink and light green colors + "terrible twos" (use the number 2 or two of something - like an embellishment)
